Worth It!: Alumni Stories
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” (1 Corinthians 9:24-25)
We prioritize competitive excellence as one of our six foundational pillars. Our aim is not to amass trophies, but to use competition as a catalyst for students to develop the focus and discipline necessary for honing both skills and character. The qualities students cultivate through Stoa empower them to speak boldly and change the world for Christ.
Whether students achieve victory at NITOC or fall just short of that second green checkmark, the outcomes of competition will soon fade. What remains are the work ethic, knowledge, and character built through the process, which will serve students throughout their lives.
We recently had the opportunity to hear from Stoa alumna Aryanna Highfill, who shared how her experiences with Stoa continue to shape her life today. Hear all about her inspiring journey here.
