STOA MISSION, VISION, & VALUES

Christian Faith and Forensics

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
Romans 11:36 (NASB)

Stoa’s forensics-based mission believes human speech is “from” God and that only through Him can we speak with grace, truth, and beauty.  The league embodies a culture of thought, public discourse, apologetics, and intellectual inquiry. Stoa emphatically stands to develop young people into winsome and God-honoring orators.

MISSION, VISION, & VALUES

Mission Statement: We equip homeschool students, through competitive speech and debate, to think critically, engage graciously, and speak boldly from a Biblical worldview.

Vision Statement: Until generations of faithful and compelling communicators make Jesus Christ known in every sphere.

Values:

  1. Biblical Worldview: God's word is the authority for our organization and our lives. We strive to align every aspect of the organization to the truth of Scripture.

  2. People: Every person matters. We believe each individual bears the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, encouragement, and genuine care. We invest in the growth of those we serve and build relationships that extend beyond competition.

  3. Excellence:  We pursue the highest standards of communication, character, and organizational practice. We strive for excellence in tournament standards, student competition, personal integrity, and leadership.

  4. Christ-Centered Community: We prioritize gracious, servant-hearted relationships within our league, fostering a supportive environment that honors family and encourages discipleship among all participants.

  5. Local Freedom and Shared Stoa Standard: We establish clear league standards that protect our mission, integrity, and identity, while empowering local communities with the freedom to implement, innovate, and lead in ways that best serve our families. We believe unity in essentials creates space for creativity in application.

  6. Stewardship: We steward our time, talent, and finances with integrity and sustainability, ensuring the faithful advancement of the mission for future generations.
