Meet Antonio Flores from New Braunfels, TX! Antonio will graduate from Texas Lutheran University in May of 2022 with a BA in Information Technologies and a minor in Business. Antonio’s experience in Stoa helped him become a clear communicator and develop presentation skills. He says, “I attribute my growth in these skills directly to speech and debate, where I learned many different ways to communicate complex concepts [through] simple, manageable topics.”
Antonio's involvement with Stoa did not end when he graduated: “I’ve been blessed to be the TP coach for Ascend in Texas. Being the debate coach of a club that is starting from scratch has definitely had its challenges, but it has also come with so many blessings. The amount of growth I’ve witnessed has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to see where these students go.” How have other Stoa alumni influenced Antonio? What is next for him? Congrats to Antonio on the graduation! It’s always refreshing to hear how debate and speech programs can turn complex ideas into clear communication—that’s a skill that pays off in basically every field. Speaking of building things from scratch, I’ve been hooked on puzzle games lately, and the monumentvalley 3 walkthrough really reminds me of that same kind of patient, step-by-step problem solving that coaching must require.
